Cenarth pre-dawn sewin seams
River Teifi (Cenarth): pre-dawn sewin seams

Cenarth bridge produced the first seam at dawn today as sewin moved in on the incoming tide. Local reports describe fish quartering the pale current where the tidal push meets river flow, a narrow line where caddis adults began hatching in the low light. Those emergences open a very tight dry-fly window before the sky brightens.
Morning take and tactics
Small to medium sewin are showing in the riffles below the bridge and along the glide above the weir. The seams close quickly as the tide slack shifts; precision matters. Light rods, small caddis imitations and long leaders win the morning. When the tide runs harder or cloud lifts, nymph rigs and shrimp patterns produce in deeper water.
Water remains low-clear after settled weather with just a hint of upland colour from overnight showers. Seasonal trend points to increasing sewin activity through late spring as caddis peaks coincide with favourable evening tides. Expect short, sharp dry-fly bursts at first light and again at dusk.
Anglers on the downstream bank report that one correct downstream mend into the seam often finishes the session: a quick take, a bright pull and a flash of silver before the current smooths out. Pack long leaders, a spare caddis box, and firm wading boots — the best windows are brief and the fish decisive.
