Classic mulled wine recipe
Dry red wine is the basis of the drink.
When cooking, use whole spices, not ground. Thus, the drink will have an ideal taste.
Boil the spices
Take water, put spices in a pan. Heat and boil for just 1 minute.
What are we cooking:
- star anise
- Cardamom
- Clove
- Cinnamon
- Allspice
After cooking, let it infuse for 5 minutes.
Cut the fruit
Cut the orange and lemon zest. Cut the apple into pieces.
You can also cut the orange and lemon into pieces, but in this case the drink will have a different taste.
Warm up
Place the chopped pieces in a basket and fill with wine. We begin to warm up.
You cannot boil, because the wine will lose its properties.
As soon as bubbles start to appear, remove from heat.
We pour spices
Pour the liquid from the spices that have already been infused into a container with wine. We can use a sieve so that whole parts of seasonings do not get into the drink.
Let it brew for another 3-5 minutes.
We mix mulled wine with wine
Honey should be added at the very end so that it does not lose its properties. We put honey in a cup and fill it with mulled wine.
We mix thoroughly.
