Construction of a spinning rod

A spinning rod consists of a handle and a reel holder, a blank and blanking rings.

Handle and reel holder

The quality of the handle depends on:

  • gear balance;

  • convenience of holding the rod during fishing and when weighing the fish;

  • casting bait with a fishing rod.

The handle is:

  • one-handed;

  • two-handed;

  • folded.

The material of the handle affects the reliability of the grip.

Handle material:

  • EVA;

  • traffic jam;

  • neoprene;

  • various polymers;

  • rubber.

Reel holders can be divided into two types:

  • The first type of reel holder fixes the reel with a nut on top;

  • The second type of coil holder fixes the coil with a nut from below.

Blank

The spinning blank is the main part of the spinning rod, which includes the top, middle and bottom sections, and provides flexibility and stiffness to the rod when fishing.

Pass rings

Slip rings are an important element of spinning. They evenly distribute the load on the blank, ensure smooth movement of the cord from the reel of the rod to the upper ring of the spinning (tulip). The rings consist of a frame and an insert. The frames of the rings are made of steel and titanium, into which inserts made of metal-ceramic coated with titanium nitride, silicon carbide, aluminum oxide and porcelain are glued or pressed.
