Test of spinning rods

The spinning rod test is the lower and upper limit of the weight of the baits used. The test is indicated in ounces or grams. The higher the test, the more powerful the spinning when casting heavy baits.

Ultralight spinning (UL — ultralight)

Bait weight - 1-5 g. Used:

  • pinwheels;

  • oscillating spinners;

  • wobblers;

  • microjig. 

Light spinning (L — light)

  • Bait weight 2-15 g.

Medium-light spinning (ML — medium light)

  • Bait weight 5-25 g. Often used type of rods, because the spectrum of baits is the widest.

Medium spinnings (M — medium)

Bait weight 10-30 g. Suitable for fishing:

  • jig;

  • heavy oscillating spinners;

  • wobblers.

Medium hard spinning (MH — medium hard)

  • Bait weight 15-40 g.

Heavy spinning (H — hard)

  • Bait weight 20-60 g.
