Material of feeder rods

Modern feeder rods are made of different materials, each of which has its own price, features and availability.

Blank

The blanks are made of glass fiber (fiberglass), carbon fiber (carbon) or composite.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass is an affordable, strong, heavy material. Impact resistant. The cost is low;

High modulus graphite (carbon)

Carbon - low weight, high tactile sensitivity. They require careful handling. The cost is high. (In feeder sports, carbon is used to make highly sensitive and expensive models, as well as quivertypes);

Composite

Composite is a combination of fiberglass and carbon fiber. Combines the advantages of fiberglass and carbon. Blanks made of composite are universal, have an average degree of stiffness, are resistant to deformations and are located in the middle price range.

Handle

There are many materials and their combinations:

  • EVA;

  • traffic jam;

  • neoprene;

  • various polymers;

  • rubber.

Quivertip - removable tops

Material

  • Tops made of fiberglass;

  • Graphite vertices.

Pass rings

The most common insert is silicon carbide SIC.

Fuji

Fuji is the world leader in the production of slip rings for fishing rods.

They achieved the highest quality for:

  • Reducing the friction of the braid in the ring;

  • Increased tackle casting range;

  • Saving expensive cords that have a thin coating;

  • Faster removal of heat arising from friction (this extends the service life of gear);

  • Bending strength (when a high load is placed on the ring and it is deformed, then it will return to its original shape without defects).

Marking on Fuji products

  • G Gold Cermet - metal ceramics;

  • L Hardloy - improved aluminum oxide;

  • About Aluminum Oxide - aluminum oxide;

  • A Alconite - hardened aluminum oxide;

  • N Silicon Nitride - silicon nitride;

  • S Silicon Carbide (SiC) - silicon carbide.
