The history of the fly rod

Fly fishing (from English "fly fishing") is one of the types of fishing, which began to actively develop in England from the 15th century. The first treatise on fly fishing, which was published in 1496, is attributed to the abbess Juliana Berners. The treatise describes the technique of fly fishing, including the use of artificial flies (bait) that imitate insects and other prey organisms. Fly fishing consists of the fisherman casting a fly on the water, trying to mimic the natural movements and behavior of the prey to attract the fish.

Over time, fly fishing has become popular in many countries of the world.
